1. Is a particular denomination important to you?

In Orlando there are many denominations represented.  There are also non-denominational churches if you prefer.

2. Does the church share your beliefs?

This is a very important question to have answered when you are searching for a church.  One good source of information would be the church’s statement of faith.  Someone at the church should be able to provide you with one or it may be posted on the church website.

3. What is the worship style of the church?

Churches are different in their styles of worship. The worship style can go from very liturgical to very casual with lots of choices in between.

4. Are you more comfortable in a larger or smaller church?

Personal preference will determine which type of church setting you are most comfortable with.  Perhaps you like to join with a large group in worship, or maybe you prefer a smaller more intimate setting.

5. Does the church have ministries that you would be interested in?

Being able to join with and serve in ministries in a church is a big part of church life.  If you have young children or teenagers you might want to find out if there are programs/activities for them.

This is obviously just a starting point as you search for a church.  You might want to email or call any churches that you are interested in to ask any questions you might have.  A church website can often be a valuable tool in helping you get your questions answered.  A church should ultimately provide a place for you to connect with and worship God.  It should be a place where you can grow in community and see that people’s lives are being changed.  If you find these characteristics in a church you may have found the church for you.
